Redacting.ai uses automated technology to detect sensitive information. While we strive for high accuracy, no automated system can guarantee 100% detection of all sensitive data. You are responsible for reviewing redacted documents before distribution. See Section 10 for full details.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Redacting.ai ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. The Service is operated by Lunera AS ("Company", "we", "us", or "our").
We may update these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
2. Service Description
Redacting.ai provides automated document redaction services. Our Service includes:
- Automated detection of sensitive information (PII, financial data, etc.)
- Permanent redaction of detected sensitive content from documents
- Document processing, storage, and download capabilities
- User account management and subscription services
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
4. User Accounts
To access certain features, you must create an account. You may register using:
- Email and password
- Google Sign-In
- Microsoft Sign-In
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or to process illegal content
- Upload documents containing malware or malicious code
- Attempt to circumvent security measures or access controls
- Use automated systems to access the Service beyond normal usage
- Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
6. Free Trial
7-Day Free Trial
New users receive a 7-day free trial with access to premium features. At the end of the trial period, you may choose to subscribe to a paid plan or continue with limited free features.
7. Subscriptions and Billing
Paid subscriptions are processed through Paddle, our Merchant of Record. By subscribing:
- You authorize Paddle to charge your payment method on a recurring basis
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
- Paddle handles all billing, taxes, and payment compliance
- You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard

8. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party providers for infrastructure, payment processing, and optional AI-based detection. We are not responsible for outages, errors, or policy decisions of these providers. Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
9. Refunds
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all paid subscriptions. If you are not satisfied with the Service within 14 days of your initial subscription, you may request a full refund with no questions asked. See our Refund Policy for complete details.
10. Redaction Disclaimer
Critical: Review Your Documents
Redacting.ai uses pattern matching and AI to detect sensitive information. While we continuously improve our detection algorithms, no automated system can guarantee 100% detection of all sensitive data in all document types and formats.
You are solely responsible for:
- Reviewing all redacted documents before sharing or publishing
- Ensuring all sensitive information has been properly redacted
- Any consequences resulting from incomplete redaction
You must manually review and approve all redacted documents before distribution. By using the Service, you accept all risks associated with redaction errors, omissions, or false positives.
11. No Professional Advice; No Compliance Guarantee
The Service does not provide legal, regulatory, medical, financial, or compliance advice. You are solely responsible for determining whether your use of the Service meets any legal or regulatory obligations. We do not guarantee compliance with any laws, regulations, or industry standards.
12. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by Lunera AS and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You retain all rights to your uploaded documents. We do not claim ownership of any content you upload to the Service.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LUNERA AS AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Any loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
- Any damages resulting from incomplete, missed, or incorrect redactions
- Any exposure, disclosure, or leakage of information from your documents
- Any regulatory penalties, fines, or third-party claims related to your documents
- Any damages resulting from unauthorized access to your account
- Any damages exceeding the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater
THIS LIMITATION APPLIES REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY AND EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
14. Warranty Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- MERCHANTABILITY
- FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
- NON-INFRINGEMENT
- ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF REDACTION
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lunera AS and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Documents you upload or process through the Service
16. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. All provisions of these Terms that should survive termination shall survive.
17. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Norway.
18. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. For significant changes affecting your rights, we will also send an email notification.
19. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
